Description

The land, originally part of a Scandinavian concern is located in low population density agricultural southern Belize in the Stann Creek District, and is surrounded with banana fields, citrus fields, and vacant land. The Cockscomb mountain range lies to the west. The site has frontage on the Southern Highway, with electricity. A small village exists (Cowpens) on the north of the site with a police outpost and small grocery store.The rear of the property contains a ~50-acre lime orchard in need of maintenance. The balance of the site is a combination of light forest, grassland, and dense forest along Big Creek, a water way that meanders through the site. The water has been tested and is of excellent quality. Drainage ditches have been excavated, but further agricultural improvements have not been made.The site is 5 miles from the community of Independence, with a hardware store, grocery store, and water taxi to Placencia Village. Placencia is an international tourist destination, and is home to Francis Ford Coppola
